Haven for Hope Hosts 3rd Annual “Share the Warmth” Donation Drive
WHAT: Despite the above-normal temperatures this winter, we know cold weather is around the corner. On Saturday, January 10, Haven for Hope will host its 3rd Annual Share the Warmth donation drive, an effort designed to ensure that individuals experiencing homelessness have the winter gear they need to stay safe, warm, and protected.
For the Share the Warmth donation drive, organizers are asking our community to donate essential cold-weather items, including coats, hats, scarves, gloves, and beanies. Donated items will be available to clients at no cost, and Haven’s Outreach Team will distribute winter necessities directly to our unsheltered neighbors throughout the community.
This year, Haven aims to collect 5,000 pieces of winter gear through a convenient drive-up and drop-off donation event. Those unable to attend in person can also contribute through Haven for Hope’s Amazon Wishlist, which allows winter clothing items to be shipped directly to the Haven Donation Center.
WHO: To expand the reach of this initiative, Haven is partnering with local content creators who will promote the event and encourage community involvement. Several local businesses will also serve as off-site donation drop locations leading up to the event, including Dnyce Cutz on Fredericksburg Road, Love Shack Boutique on Callaghan and Potranco, and Jen’s Dance Spot on Austin Highway.
